Michael Colvin Miller

July 13, 1954 — September 14, 2019

Mick, as he was known to his friends and family, was born July 13th, 1954 in Lusk, Wyoming to Constance Alberta Colvin and Michael Joseph Miller. He tragically passed away at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his parents, Constance Alberta Colvin and Michael Joseph Miller; and his sister Karna Miller. He is survived by his three children, Aliea Miller, Dusty Miller, and Matthew Miller; his sister Susan Schwarts Pratt; his grandchildren, Karley Baker, Kassie Baker, Kenzie Latham, Heidi Miller, Wyatt Miller, Lane Miller, and Luke Miller; His beloved Kathleen MarieTaylor and innumerable friends whom he loved just as family.

Mick spent several years in the military, serving his country, before settling into Casper, Wyoming. He entered the Marine Corps at 21 years old, where he served his country with great honor and distinction. He fought for his country in Vietnam to protect his brothers in arms and his countrymen and left the Marine Corps having attained the titles of Rifleman and Marksmanship Instructor. Though his service was short, it was no less meaningful and he was no less proud of everything he was able to do in the name of his country and kin. Upon leaving the Military, Mick went on to work in the oilfield and spent several decades in this profession, never flinching away from long days, cold nights, and the hardest work.

Mick adored his many years working in the Oilfield as well as his time with the Marines. He was proud of his service and proud of his work. He never doubted the good that either brought to his life and he often spoke of his experiences fondly. He was a hardworking and generous man, and others could find no end to his generosity. He would often give the last dollar in his pocket to anyone who needed it, even when he was also in need. He was accepting of others, even though their most difficult times and their most devastating mistakes, always finding one more reason to give them another chance, never doubting they would come around.

His tendency towards hard work and the hard times he experienced in his life never hardened his heart. He passed away being known as a tender and caring man who loved to help anyone he could, and only wanted to make others happy with his days. His passing is deeply felt but his life is not lost, as his generosity, love, and selflessness have changed the lives of many who gladly carry on that tradition in his name.
