Michael Lee Lovato passed away after staging a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, July 18, 2011. Mike died at his home surrounded by his family.
Mike was born in Evanston, WY on July 23, 1967 to Flavio and Janice (Faulkner) Lovato. Mike played football and wrestled at Evanston High School before graduating in 1985. Following graduation he attended Western Wyoming Community College, where he majored in Political Science.
Mike moved to Casper in 1993 and was employed by Stewart & Stevenson, American Le France and Fabrication Technology before joining Wyoming Machinery Company, one of Mike's favorite places in the world--in the parts department working as a shipper and receiver. Mike remained employed by Wyoming Machinery Company until his passing.

Mike's greatest passion was watching his children's sporting activities. He has spent numerous years coaching t-ball, baseball, basketball and flag football. Mike thoroughly enjoyed spending countless hours in the audiences of Ashley's dance competitions and on the benches of Casper Martial Arts Academy, watching Stephen progress through belts. On July 1, 2011 Mike received an Honorary Black Belt for his dedication to the sport at the same time Stephen earned his Black Belt.
In addition to sporting activities, Mike loved to travel, with his favorite destination being wherever the cruise ship was heading. He was also a member of the Elk's Lodge and an active supporter of organ and tissue donation, having received two kidney transplants during his life.
Mike is survived by his wife, Stephanie, his children Ashley Carnahan and Stephen Lovato of the family home, Megan Harris and her husband Steven (El Paso), and Abbie Lovato (St. Louis), his mother, Janice (Evanston) and 3 brothers, Tony and his wife Becki (Evanston), Troy (Utah), and Rocky (Colorado), sister, Tina Lovato (Utah), a grandmother, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
