Michael W. Kelly, age 53, passed away on March 2, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
Mike was born on June 17, 1959 to Howard and Mikey Kelly in Sheridan, Wyoming. Mike's family moved to Casper in 1965 and made it their home. Mike joined the army after high school and spent a year in Alaska. He moved back to Casper in 1982. He then joined the army reserves and met the love of his life, Laura Arnold. They were married in Torrington Wyoming in November of 1983. They had a wonderful thirty years together.
Mike loved the outdoors and animals. He was a welder for Black Hills Bentonite for many years. In 1993, he obtained his Associates' Degree in Welding from Casper College.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Kelly, maternal grandparents, John and Florence Reardon, paternal grandparents, Dottie and George Kelly, and his mother-in-law, Tressa Arnold. Mike was survived by his mother, Mikey Kelly, and sister, Tina Kelly, both of Casper, his wife, Laura Kelly, his father-in-law, Ted Arnold, and many brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on March 9, 2013 at the Ramkota Best Western at 12 p.m. Please send donations to the Black Dog Animal Rescue and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
