Meredith Franklin "Frank" DeMerritt, 89, of Casper, passed away May 15, 2011 at the Wyoming Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 16, 1921 in Meservey, Iowa, the son of William and Nellie Baker DeMerritt. Frank was a United States Navy veteran serving during WWII. He was employed as a mechanic for Spaniol Motors, Greiner Ford and Tripeny Motors until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Natrona County Rock Hounds and The Moose Club. Frank enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling and working with rocks.
Survivors include his wife, Neva, one son, Dennis DeMerritt, two daughters, Merebeth Yankey and Judi Anderson, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mae Jones of California. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty DeMerritt.
Services will be Wed. May 18, 2011, 2:00 PM at The Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The Central Wyoming Hospice Home. Newcomer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
