The Lord called an angel home to be with him on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Her name is Mellody Anna Icenogle. She is my best friend, my dearly loved wife, my guide through troubled times, my partner, a beloved mother, not only to our children but to many of their close friends, and a grandmother so dear to her grandchildren, it was a bond that motivates writers to create fairy tales and legends. She is a sister, a daughter, an aunt who is always willing to help in any way, while offering support with the most beautiful smile and endearing heart. She is a Volunteer Firefighter, an Emergency Medical Technician, an American Heart Association Instructor, and an employee of Hilltop National Bank where she enjoyed helping people with their questions and finances. She was a very close friend to many people and always had a soft spot in her heart for all animals around her, except spiders. Mellody fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and had many victories and in the end she succumbed quietly in her sleep.
She was born in Casper on June 15, 1961 to Adabelle and Clarence (Pete) Peterson. She lived her childhood in Kirby, Wyoming attending school in Thermopolis. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1979. The same year she married her first husband Mark Patceg and moved to Glenrock for a short time. The family then moved to Casper where she lived the rest of her life. With Mark, she had two children, Andrew J. Patceg and Christina Mae Patceg. In 1999, she married Chris Icenogle and gained a stepson, Cory Icenogle.
She leaves behind a husband, son, daughter, stepson, six grandchildren whom she deeply loved, and a multitude of people that were impacted by her generous and loving personality. She was significant in many people's lives and her sphere of influence was far reaching. Her warmth and kindness will never be forgotten. On April 21, 2013 she joined the Lord in heaven where she waits patiently for her family to, one day join her.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Three Trails Room in the Casper Events Center. As per Mellody's request; a potluck celebration of her life will be held at the Observation Deck of the Natrona County International Airport. She always said, "The best foods come from the heart and home".
