Melda Lucille Leimback , 83, of Casper, passed away August 26, 2014 peacefully at her home.
She was born November 23, 1930 in Casper, Wyoming, the daughter of Chris and Etta (Coyle) Christiansen. She was a graduate of Natrona County High School. On April 3, 1948 she married Harry E. Leimback and had three children, Tom (Sonja) , Pat (Dee) and Linda Toohey (Ed). She had 9 wonderful grandchildren, Tom (Tiffany), Dan (Jenny), Kristy Oster (Josh), Jennifer Leonhardt (Brandon), Amber Ramsey (Corey), Laura, Chelsea (Angie), Taylor King, and Josh Siderius; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She served on the MS Board of Directors in the early 1970's and was instrumental in starting the first CATC bus service. She also helped to organize the first preschool at Grace Lutheran Church where she was a lifetime member. Melda and Harry were very involved in politics throughout their marriage and worked together in many ways to positively impact the community. Her two greatest loves were her family and politics. Melda always loved to share her unique sense of humor with others, she always enjoyed a good laugh with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-Earl and Carl, sisters-Emily, Mildred, and Dorothy; husband; and her eldest son, Tom Leimback.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, Casper, Wyoming. A reception following the service will be at the Paradise Valley Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice in Melda's name.
