Maxine Englehart ( Grandma) Goodell, 82, of Thermopolis, WY, passed away Oct. 10, 2009 at the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis, WY.
She was born Aug. 17, 1927 in Fremont, Nebraska, the daughter of Harley and Margaret ( Grabe ) Good. She was a graduate of Edgemont High School. She was united in marriage to Ray Englehart in 1948 in Hot Springs, SD and he preceded her in death in 1972. She was then united in marriage to Robert (Doc) Goodell in 1974 in Thermopolis, WY and he preceded her in death in 1994. She owned and operated Grammas Pay Less Liquor in Thermopolis, WY. Maxine was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 2281 in Thermopolis, WY. Mrs. Goodell loved to cook and bake, especially Christmas Candy.
Survivors include five daughters, Kathy Ruby, Nancy Madrigal, Judy Carpenter, Christy Nordby and Cara Goodell and one son, Bob Goodell. There are ten grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. There are two sisters, Blanche Schaffer and Dorothy Olivas and one brother, Jim Good. She also has numerous nieces and nephews that survive.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Ray Englehart Christmas for kids in care of Big Horn Hot Springs VFW # 2281, Thermopolis, WY.
