CASPER -- Funeral services for Mary Kay Brown, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Fr. August Koeune of St. Patrick's Church officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colo.
She died July 2, 2007, at Central Wyoming Hospice Home.
She was born Dec. 18, 1926, in Denver, the daughter of Louis J. Brown and Agnes J. O'Day.
She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1948 with a degree in music/education. She was a member of the CU Marching Band and Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
She taught one year in Frederick, Colo., and then began her lengthy career teaching in the Denver Public Schools in 1950, retiring 32 year later. After retiring from the DPS she taught one year in Ottawa, Canada and two years in Columbia, South America.
She married Roy (Pat) Carland on April 22, 1957 and he died in 1965.
She married Robert V. Brown on July 1, 1995 and moved to Casper. He died in August 2005.
Survivors include two stepsons, Donald Brown and his wife of Larkspur, Colo., and James Brown of Ocala, Fla., and two cousins, Marguerite O'Day and Patricia Hartley in Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Beynon, DDS.
Memorials may be made to Rally for the Cure (Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation), in care of Sheila Kimble, 1116 Goodstein Dr., Casper, 82601.
