Mary Yvonne Schroeder, age 92 of Casper, passed away July 7, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born May 16, 1927 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Joseph and Katherine Evans. Mary graduated from Holy Cross Hospital Nursing College in Salt Lake City, Utah with a nursing degree. Mary met the love of her life, Roland Schroeder and they married on January 13, 1951. She worked as a nurse for many years and then chose to devote her time to Wyoming Right to Life. She also served on the National Right to Life Board. Mary treasured spending time with her husband, family, and friends. They enjoyed outdoor activities especially camping in Yellowstone; along with golfing and skiing the bunny slopes. Mary enjoyed playing bridge and card games with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her brother John Evans and 2 sisters, Dorothy Wales and Pat McArdle. She is survived by her husband Roland Schroeder, sharing 68 years of marriage. Daughters: Michaela Weinrich, Patti Kraus, Kathleen Matula, Judy Lacey and son, Joseph Schroeder, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm , Thursday July 11, 2019 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 604 S. Center. Followed by a vigil and rosary at 7:00 PM at the church. A Mass of Celebration will be held 10:30 AM, Friday July 12, 2019 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
