Mary P Williams, 80, of Casper, passed away April 13, 2011 at Central Wyoming Hospice Home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1931 in Oak Creek, CO, the daughter of Miguel and Josephina Alvarez.
She was the salutatorian of Oak Creek High School graduating in 1948. She received her teaching degree at Colorado College of Education in Greeley, CO. Mary was employed as a forth grade teacher at Mills School for 28 years until her retirement. The most important thing in her life was her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching and crafts.
Mary was united in marriage to Joe Williams Dec. 26, 1950 in Casper, WY for 46 years and he preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Engleman (Ron) of Casper, three sons, Ken Williams (Debbie) of Casper, Joe Williams (Kae) of Arvada, CO, Sam Williams (Donna) of Casper, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert Alvarez of Baggs, WY, a sister, Henrietta Vasquez of Casper, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Sat. April 16, 2011, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Kevin Koch as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Wyoming Memorial Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mills School, Central Wyoming Hospice Home, Mountain View Baptist Church Building Fund or The Casper Children's Chorale.
