She died Feb. 2, 2009, at Wyoming Medical Center of a broken heart.

She was born June 26, 1930, in Scottsbluff, Neb., the daughter of John and Dorothy Rammes.

She was raised in Scottsbluff, graduating from Scottsbluff High School in 1948. She attended Scottsbluff Junior College and married Owen A. "Hap" Frank in December 1948.

They moved to Pinedale in 1955, where they ran the Pinedale Roundup. She lived in Jackson from 1960 to 1970, working at the Jackson Hole Guide.

She moved to Casper in 1970 and in 1975, began a 20-year career in the composing room of the Casper Star-Tribune.

A lifelong learner, she graduated from Casper College in 1983, along with daughters, Dorothy and Mary Pat. Her degree was an associate's of applied science in electronics technology, a precursor to computer science or IT education.

Because of her fascination with the blossoming world of technology, she built her own computer from scratch during that time and earned enormous respect from colleagues at the newspaper, not just for the pride she took in her craft, but also because of her insistence on the use of proper grammar, punctuation, word usage and spelling.

Throughout her life, her prowess with computers enabled her to give invaluable assistance to family, friends and anyone who needed her help.

She was married to Ray P. White, who preceded her in death in 1989.

In July 1994, she married Bob Macy in Casper and retired from the Star-Tribune in 1995.

She was a voracious reader and enjoyed skiing, knitting, keeping abreast of current events and later in life, she loved playing golf with her husband, Bob; family and friends.

The most amazing gift she bestowed upon her five children was the desire to constantly learn and grow.

She enjoyed memberships in the Casper Country Club and the Casper Petroleum Club and especially valued friendships with members of the country club's ladies golf association.

Her large and loving family adored her deeply and admired her greatly.

Survivors include her five children, their spouses and significant others; Owen A. Frank III (Sally Ann Shurmur), Glenrock; Fred Frank (Emily), Ammon, Idaho; Mary Pat Frank (Alan Brooks), Casper; Susan Frank (Steve Domonkos), Casper; and Dorothy Howard (Virgil), Glenwood Springs, Colo.

Her five stepchildren and their spouses are Terry Biggs (Bill), Casper; Larry Macy (Theresa), Morrisville, Pa.; Tracy Schwartzkopf (Gary), Casper; Suzi Bower (Mark), Casper; and Michele Kantak (Don), Peyton, Colo.

Her six grandchildren, their spouses and significant others are Holli Frank, Tooele, Utah; Heather Frank, Rio Rancho, N.M.; Fred Frank Jr. (Chris), Victor, Idaho; Martin Frank, Ocala, Fla.; Rachel Hauglid (Todd Howie), Casper; and Stephanie Bunton (Mike), Casper.

Her five step-great-grandchildren are Ali Williams, Sanford, N.C.; Teleri Biggs, Casper; Wynter Liebel, Pottstown, Pa.; Serenity Schwartzkopf, Casper and Nathalie Schwartzkopf, Casper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Ray P. White in 1989 and Bob Macy in July 2008; the father of her children, Owen A. "Hap" Frank on Feb. 2, 1999, and step-grandson, Scott Biggs in December 2004.

As a tribute to her love for learning, memorials to the Casper College Foundation, 125 College Dr., Casper, 82601, would be deeply appreciated.
