Mary "Elaine" Hoshaw, 88, passed away March 28, 2017 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyoming.
Elaine was born in Salt Creek, Wyoming on May 22, 1928 to Otto and Esta Odetta (Ball) Clapp. Of nine children, she was the sixth child born. Elaine attended local schools and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1946.
In November of 1949, Elaine married Gerald Leitzke. On September 1, 1954, one daughter was born, Pamela Sue Leitzke Robinder. Gerald was later killed in a car accident in April 1963. On September 23, 1972 Elaine married Walter Bell Hoshaw in Casper, Wyoming. They were happily married for 44 years.
After 23 years, Elaine retired from First Interstate Bank as an assistant vice president in the mortgage loan department. She was involved in various organizations including Keta Kourt (past vice president), Beauceant (past president) and was a Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star. She just celebrated her 50 year membership in the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Bell Hoshaw of Casper, Wyoming; daughter Pamela Sue Robinder of Douglas, Wyoming; grandson Brady Christopher Robinder of Parker, Colorado; granddaughter Shanna Krista (Robinder) Wilcox of Gillette, Wyoming; great-granddaughter Ashlee Belle Wilcox of Rapid City, South Dakota; great grandson Sidney Drew Wilcox of Gillette, Wyoming; brothers Russell Clapp (Martinelle) of Denver, Colorado; Leo Clapp (Lois) of Casper, Wyoming along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Otto in 1949; mother Esta in 1966; brothers William, Donald, and Byron Clapp; and sisters Bernice Cuilla, Edna Garrett, and Wyoma Whitehead.
A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, April 3, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Highland Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or the Shriners Children Hospital.
