CASPER -- A funeral Mass for Mary Elizabeth Gibson, 88, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with private burial to follow in Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m.
She died April 21, 2008, in Wyoming Medical Center.
She was born to Joseph and Mary Spieker Oct. 2, 1919, in Carroll, Iowa.
She spent her childhood in Carroll, Iowa.
She married Arthur Halford in June, 1943 and had two children. She lost Arthur in an auto accident in 1948.
She later met and married Harold Gibson in June, 1951 and had five children.
She worked in a factory during WWII assembling belts for the military.
She moved with her family to Casper in 1967, where she remained until her death.
She was a homemaker enjoying her family, crossword puzzles, slot machines and the St Louis Cardinals.
She is survived by five daughters, Diane Escamilla of Mathis, Texas; Debbie Senftner, Sandy Rieke, Jean Gibson, Joan Gibson all of Casper; one son, Steve Gibson of Casper; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son, two sisters and six brothers.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Assoc.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
