Date of death: Longtime Casper resident Mary Galley died on August 5, 2007 at Life Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Life History:
She spent her childhood years in Nebraska and graduated from Saint Mary's Academy in Chadron. Her family moved to Casper when Mary was 19 years old, and she worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and the J. C. Penny store before meeting and marrying longtime Casper business man Bob Galley on November 29, 1940.
Throughout her life Mary was active in many area organizations including Wyoming Catholic Women's Aux., St. Anthony's Church Altar and Rosary Society, several Catholic youth groups, the Boot and Spur riding club, the Roundup Club, and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was the last surviving charter member of the Casper BPOE Does Women's Auxiliary. She always enjoyed playing bridge and her primary bridge club group played continuously for 57 years. Later in life she enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, and volunteer work at Fort Casper.
She is survived by her children, Sue Stewart of Casper, Richard H. Galley, DVM of Willow Park, Texas, Stephen R. Galley of Green River, Wyo., and Thomas P. Galley of Water ford, Maine. She also left nine grandchildren, sixteen great -grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980, and by her parents, a brother, and a sister.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church 10:00 a.m. Friday August 10, 2007. There will be a visitation Thursday August 9, 2007 from 5pm until the time of the Vigil at 7pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
