No services will be held for Mary Zowada, 85, who died Jan.30, 2013 at her home.
She was born May 22, 1928, in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph Lucas and Pauline (Lowati) Lucas.
She moved to Glendale, California and worked for the telephone company. She met her husband, Henry Zowada, and they married on Jan. 26, 1952. They later returned to Wyoming, living in Sheridan before settling in Casper.
She worked at Mountain Bell and US West Telephone Company in Casper, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed doing puzzles and sewing.
Upon her retirement from US West, she and her husband took numerous cruises, and traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, Panama, Russia, the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Africa, Asia, and Mexico. She enjoyed traveling the world and exploring new cultures.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry. Survivors include daughters: Stephanie Mardekian of Hillsborough, N.J., Suzanne Zowada of Casper, and Samantha Besler of Laramie; and six grandchildren.
She was loved very much by her family and will be deeply missed.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
