Marvin Tackett

Marvin "Jay" Tackett, age 67, passed away Wednesday September 9, 2009 at Central Wyoming Hospice, in Casper, following a long courageous battle with cancer. Jay was born October 30, 1941 in Clarinda Iowa. He started working at a very young age in the fields helping family and friends bring in crops. He attended Gravity Schools where he lived on the family farm. Jay was the salutatorian of Gravity High in a small graduating class. He moved to Colorado and married Lori Bales. They had a daughter Pamela. They later divorced and Jay moved to Wyoming where he met and married Beulah Johnson enjoying a wonderful 32 years together.
Jay enjoyed his work, fishing although not hunting because of the big brown eyes looking back at him. He prided himself on being a hard worker and taking care of his family. He enjoyed and spoiled his "girls" his two Welsh Corgis, Ellie and Ginger. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

Jay is survived by his wife, Beulah; three daughters, Pam and husband John Fresquez of Thornton CO, Elizabeth and Joey Thomas of Twin Falls ID and Michelle and Chris Sanders of Casper; brother Jerry Hill of Tacoma WA; seven grandchildren, Brandon , Sara, Brianna, Vanessa, Brittany, Bryce, and Larysa; 3 great grandchildren, Bentley, Gabriella and Miyah; Nephew Michael Kidney and great nephew Asa Kidney; numerous family members and friends in and around his home town of Gravity, IA. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Linda, Dorothy and Mary Ellen and one brother Howard and also a son Richard.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 12, 2009 in Newcomer Funeral Home with private cremation and burial. Contributions may be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice or the Central Wyoming Oncology.
