Marlene Marie Davis

December 3, 1947 — September 5, 2014

A Celebration of the life of Marlene Marie "Marty" Davis, 66 of Casper, will be held on Thursday September 11th, at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 710 E. 2nd Casper, WY. A Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, Marlene passed away unexpectedly at home September 5, 2014 of natural causes.

Marty was born December 3, 1947 to Garfield and Arabelle (Kindervater) Hime in Meadville, PA where she lived until she was 3 and her family moved west to Wyoming. She was raised and educated in Wyoming, and graduated from Mountain View High School in 1966. She attended and graduated from Central Wyoming College in 1988, and went to work for Wyoming Department of Family Service. She retired from DFS in 2013 after 24 ½ years, giving time in both the Lander and Casper offices. Where she touched more lives than we will ever know and restored hope in so many that had none.

She married Lonny Davis July 17, 1968. They later divorced after 17 years of marriage, but from that marriage she always said she received her two greatest blessings, of who later brought her the 5 most cherished gifts of her life. Her one and only granddaughter who received her in Heaven with open arms and her 4 grandsons of whom her whole life revolved around.

She filled a room with joy and laughter from the time she entered. She never knew a stranger. She could brighten your worst day, and was a pro at making lemonade when the world gave her lemons.

She is survived by her children Conney Lorrraine (Shawn) Edmondson of Spokane, WA, and Curtis Anthony Davis of Casper; grandsons, Korbyn, Avery, and Macallyster Edmondson all of Spokane, WA and Wyatt Davis of Casper; sister, Jo Ann (Larry) Heron of Glenrock, and brother Charles (Phyllis) Hime of Cheyenne; one aunt Mary Brisko, numerous loved cousins, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. More friends than we will ever know or could imagine.

Proceeded in death by those who received her at Heaven's gate; her parents, one and only granddaughter Alexis Marie Edmondson, brother James Hime and her one and only niece Jennifer Lynn (Heron) Sebesta.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wyoming Toys for Tots, Wyoming Diabetic Association, or Wyoming Habitat for Humanity in Marlene's name.
