Marla Kay Severts, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 6, 2025, at the age of 74. She had been a long-term resident of Casper, Wyoming.
Born on June 28, 1950, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Mary Margaret Dawson and Charles Edward Hough, Marla’s life was a testament to faith, love, and lifelong learning. She was known for her deep devotion to the gospel of Jesus Christ, which guided her in all she did. Her love for reading was unmatched, and she could always be found with a book in hand, eager to expand her knowledge and share her wisdom with those around her. She cherished her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her daughters Tiffany (Russell) Williams and Minette Boyd, as well as her cherished granddaughter Devon (Brandon) Rodriguez, great-grandson Silas Rodriguez, and great-granddaughter Leia Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Randolph Edward Hough, and her loving husband, Noel Donnell Severts.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1075 Morado Drive, Casper, Wyoming. Internment at Highland Cemetery in Casper will follow immediately after the service.
Though she is no longer with us, Marla’s legacy of faith, love, and wisdom will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace, surrounded by the love of her Savior.
