Marjorie "Marj" Cartwright died peacefully on October 30th, 2012 at her daughter's home in Casper. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:30 am at St Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Ruzicka officiating. In lieu of flowers, Marj requested donations to The Arthritis Foundation or Wounded Warriors.
Born Marjorie Jane Hall in Florence, Colorado on December 5th, 1921 to Clarence Edward Hall and Florence (Torpey) Hall, she moved with her family to Wyoming in her teens and graduated from Midwest High School in 1941. After graduation, she moved to Casper and worked for Ohio Oil. During World War II, she met and married Albert Cartwright on November 18th, 1945 during his service in the Army/Air Force.
Marj and Al had two daughters, Janice and Karen. Marj was a homemaker and steadfast supporter of her entire family. She was a bowling coach who taught the sport to many young people as well as an avid bowler who traveled across the U.S. for league championships. Marj also loved to play cards and cribbage, was an ardent Colorado Rockies fan, and loved being a Grandma most of all.
Marj is survived by her two daughters, Janice Cartwright of Cheyenne, and Karen Tate and husband Bob of Casper; her nephew, Rodney Hall and Shirley of Riverside, California. Her nine grandchildren include Lucas and Linda Drury and great-granddaughter, Ashleigh; Michelle Brown, Casey and Jen Lynch and great-grandson Sean; Donnell Tate and Niccole, and Robert Tate all of Casper; Aaron Drury and Janelle Drury of Cheyenne; and Kendra Drury and Alicia Drury of Denver, Colorado.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by many including close friends Judi & Tom Anderson and Samantha, who adored her Nonni Marj. She was preceded in death by numerous family members including her husband, Albert, her brother Thomas, and her sister Nell Marie.
