Marilyn Jean (Lamb) Jones, a proud native and life-long resident of Casper and a member of a Natrona County pioneer family, passed away on June 6, 2018 at her home.
Marilyn was born on June 11, 1940, the fourth child of Joseph Houston and Velma Carolyne (Nichols) Lamb. She attended Jefferson Elementary School, Dean Morgan Junior High School, and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1958. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Casper College in 1960.
Marilyn married Darwin E. Jones on December 26, 1959. They had a son, Kenneth, and a daughter, Karen. Besides being a homemaker, Marilyn was employed by the Natrona County School District as a library aide, playground aide, classroom aide, and secretary at Grant and Park Elementary Schools. She retired in 1992 to again become a full-time homemaker.
Marilyn loved to cross stitch and her home was graced with many of her pieces. She also loved wildflowers, mountains, and an occasional breakfast cooked over a wood fire atop Casper Mountain. She also loved her family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin; her parents, Houston and Velma Lamb; and a sister, Vesta Lamb. She is survived by her son, Kenneth W. Jones (Connie Weiland), Laramie; daughter, Karen E. Palm (Michael), Valparaiso, IN; grandsons, Ethan Palm (Nashville, TN) and Matthew Jones (Prague, Czech Republic); granddaughter, Erin Palm (Valparaiso, IN); sisters Virginia Rice, Casper; Celia Koop, Mt. Juliet, TN; Janet Irwin, Green River; brothers, LeRoy Lamb (Sally), Torrington; and Robert Lamb (Helen), Casper.
A Private Family Funeral Ceremony will be held. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery next to her husband of 55 years. The Family will receive friends at the family home Monday afternoon, June 11, 2018. Memorials in her name may be made to Meals on Wheels or Central Wyoming Hospice.
