Marilyn E. Hardy (1939-2019)
Marilyn Elaine (Hemphill) Hardy, 79 of Casper, WY died peacefully Saturday September 28th at Central Wyoming Hospice. Mrs. Hardy was born December 14, 1939 to Forrest Harlan Hemphill and Mabel (Johnston) Hemphill in Greeley, Colorado.
Marilyn grew up on a farm three miles south of Briggsdale, Colorado. She enjoyed high school sports and was part of the girls' basketball and softball teams during the summer. Marilyn attended school in Briggsdale, and part of her high school was completed in Carpenter, Wyoming where she met Glen M. Hardy and the two were married on February 28, 1959 after Glen was discharged from the Navy.
Marilyn lived much of her adult life in Casper where she worked at Automation Electronics in the sixties and later worked as a draftsman in the engineering department for Mountain Bell Telephone. Marilyn was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and sometimes scrutinizing with fervor her Colorado Avalanche, Denver Broncos and Wyoming Cowboys. She enjoyed greatly attending her great grandchildren's soccer and volleyball games while her health allowed her to. She also very much enjoyed getting her hair done by her friend E.J. and traveling to Riverton with her friends to attack the slot machines!
Survivors are her children Tim Hardy (Marguerite Beyer) and grandchildren (Samuel, Kailey and Olivia), Terri Unterseher (Duane Unterseher) and grandchildren Jeremiah (Aubree), Zachariah (Stevi) and 4 beautiful great grandchildren, Addison, Riley, Presley and Declan; one brother, Robert Harlan Hemphill of Greeley, Colorado.
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held on Thursday October 3rd at 11:00 AM at the Highland Park Community Church Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Marilyn E. Hardy to the Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, a beautiful and peaceful place with many warm and serving hearts looking after the needs of their angels and their families!
