Margaret (Margi) LaVaughn Morris (Adams) 95, of Casper peacefully passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2023.
She was born to the late Vaughn and Gertrude Adams, February 2, 1928 in Casper, Wyoming. Margi graduated high school in 1947 in Grandview, Missouri and continued her education in secretarial school. She married Jerrold Lee Morris in 1950 in Casper, Wyoming where they resided until their deaths.
Margi was a secretary for the Texas Oil Company and later for William Hurley Geology. She worked for Mr. Hurley many years before retiring in 1985.
Margi was a fun loving, active person until her death. She traveled extensively both inside and outside the United States. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, holding many positions throughout the years. In her early days she loved square dancing with the Black Sheep group, even teaching round dancing for a while. Margi was an avid bridge player, playing in clubs throughout most of her life. After retiring, when not traveling, she volunteered for RSVP, working with Hospice, the library and other organizations. One year receiving the volunteer of the year award. Other hobbies included, stain glass, cross stitch, knitting, crocheting and playing slot machines. She loved fashionable clothes, wild earrings and the color purple.
A huge part of her life was enjoying days at the cabin she and Jerry purchased in 1974. The cabin in the Big Horn Mountains was one of her most cherished places to spend time. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and participating in the frequent "Pour at Four" parties. She would often throw theme parties, enjoying the company of other cabin owners.
Margi is survived by 2 children: Leigh Barber of Casper and Cary (Debbie) of Buffalo. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Cole, Cody, Kari, Joshua and Jaella, and 8 great grandchildren: Zoey, Sophia, Clayton, Damien, Lilith, Hanzo, Reilly and Nova. She was preceded in death by her parents Vaughn and Gertrude and her husband, Jerry.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice of Casper.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the cabin in the Big Horn Mountains on July 15, 2023.
