Born in Weston West Virginia November 15th, 1925 to Lauden and Maybell (Smith) King.
Died January 10th, 2011 in Casper Wyoming at the age of 85.
In the 5th grade her family move to Fremont Ohio, where she grew up with her older sister Jerry and younger brother Alfred and graduated from Fremont High School. She continued her education in college by studying to become a kindergarten teacher, but after a year she needed to make money and left college and took a job modeling women's clothes in New York City. On January 16th, 1949, she married her persistent handsome sweetheart, Robert Ray Houghtaling. They were married for 62 years. They had a daughter Rae Ann and son Robert Jay. She is survived by her son Robert, daughter-in-law Lynn, son-in-law Larry Plumb and younger brother Alfred King.
She was hired by AT&T in Fremont Ohio and worked there for 5 years before transferring to AT&T in Casper Wyoming. There she raised her family and retired from AT&T after 37 years. Margaret loved animals. She raised two dogs and several cats and liked to ride her horse Rusty. She loved vacationing with her family during summer vacation and after retirement took many long motorcycle trips with her husband as well as traveling abroad. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Casper.
She is interned next to her husband at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
