Margaret M. Amburn

April 5, 1927 — May 8, 2020

Margaret Merlin (Miller) Amburn, 93 of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on May 8, 2020 at the Mountain Plaza Assisted Living in Casper, Wyoming.

Margaret, one of three children of Harry and Laverne (Braley) Miller, was born on April 5, 1927 in Hay Springs, Nebraska. She graduated from Hay Springs High School in Hay Springs. Through her school years, Margaret worked helping her parents in the bakery and café businesses they operated, and became a full time mother and homemaker in later years.

Margaret and Harold Eugene Amburn were united in marriage on April 24, 1946 at St. Columbkill Church in Hay Springs, following Harold's return from serving in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Terry, Cheryle, and Phillip. Harold worked for the Chicago & North Western Railroad in Chadron, Nebraska, and in 1957 took a job with the railroad in Casper, Wyoming, where they lived and spent their retirement years. Harold passed away in November of 2000, after 54 years of marital bliss, and Margaret continued to live in her family home, until she was 90.

Margaret was a member of the Alter and Rosary Circle at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Casper. She was active in the church with religious education, youth groups, church ministries, and volunteer activities within the community, supporting Mended Heart Health and Cancer awareness. Among her enjoyments were baking and spending time with her family, and grand kids, and great grands, travelling to many different locations to visit them. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and a good friend to members of her parish, the neighborhood, and a friend to all who knew and loved her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Laverne and brothers Francis and Donald.

Margaret is survived by her children, Terry (Annette} Amburn of Glenwood, Iowa, Cheryle (Randy) Farmer of Casper, and Phillip (Helen) Amburn of Sandy, Utah; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 niece Lori (Terry) Curry of South Sioux City, Nebraska; other relatives; and many friends.
