After completing a master's degree in Spanish at the University of Wyoming in 1969, he taught Spanish at Sublett Co. High School in Big Piney, Wyoming. He returned to Casper and taught Spanish at CYJH School, where he was a popular teacher until he retired in 1997. He continued teaching as a part time Spanish instructor at Casper College until he retired in 2006. He was a proud, lifelong member of the National Education Association, the Wyoming Education Association, and the Natrona County Education Association.
In 1972, Luciano and his wife formed the Wyoming Spanish Study Program to
provide affordable foreign travel-study to Spain and over a period of 20 years (1972-1992), introduced European culture to over 300 students and teachers from Wyoming.
