Loyce Leon Stoops was born July 4, 1925 in Quay, Oklahoma. His parents were Earnest (E.W) and Ethel Stoops. Loyce completed eighth grade but went on to subscribe to various college courses and earned his degree in Petroleum Engineering. Loyce spent 30 years with Pure Oil Company (aka Union 76 California and now Chevron). He went on to work for the US Department of Energy; Naval Reserve for six years. He served in the US Navy on the USS Saranac in the 7th Fleet from 1943 to 1946.
In the 1970's and early 80's he turned his passion for real estate into a career by obtaining various rental property which allowed him and his family financial security. He also served in the Golden Kiwanis as the Lieutenant Governor for the State of Wyoming.
August 5, 1944 he married Erma Lee Haley in Madill, Oklahoma. They had three children Donna Sue McMullin, Randy Leon Stoops and Danny Lee Stoops. They lived in Madill & Little City, OK, until 1954 when they moved to Lenapah, OK. In 1956 they relocated to Fort Morgan, CO. and in 1969 they moved to Casper, WY. In 2009 Loyce relocated to Chandler AZ where he was cared for until April 28, 2013.
Loyce is survived by his wife Erma Lee, his sister Yvonne, his daughter Donna Sue, his son Danny Lee and 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
