Lorraine "Jade" McKenzie-Moore, 65, of Casper passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at Central Wyoming Hospice after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 6, 1954 in Casper, Wyoming. Jade attended Kelly Walsh and Natrona County High Schools where she met the love of her life Ken Moore 50 years ago this September. Ken and Jade very quickly became high school sweethearts and soul mates that married and went on to start a loving family.
In the early 1980's Jade followed her dream of protecting and serving her community by becoming a Sheriff's Reserve Officer and later going through the Police Academy training to become a Deputy Sheriff where she achieved the rank of sergeant before leaving in the mid 1990's. At the age of 50 she returned to school to continue her education at Casper Community College and graduating with an Associates Degree in IT Technology. With that degree she began work for the Natrona County School District #1. With a heavy heart, Jade retired from the School District after 12 years of service.
Jade's passions included loving and taking care of her family, fishing, especially creek fishing, camping with the family, hunting, loving all of her critters and playing a few slots occasionally.
Jade was very proud of her Celtic heritage which was passed down from her loving mother, Alice (McKenzie) Welch.
Jade is survived by her husband Ken Moore; son, Jack (Patricia) Moore; son Adam (Garrett Miskimins) Moore; daughter, Yvonna Brown; son, Joe Morris; grandchildren, Alyssa (Clayton) Gallinger, Tiernan Moore and Owen Brown; and great granddaughter, Rayna Gallinger; and numerous other family members.
A visitation will be held 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, September 20, 2019 at Newcomer Casper Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the funeral home.
