Loretta J. Johnson, 80, of Casper, Wyoming died in her sleep after suffering from dementia.
She was born to the late Orley (Brownie) R. Brown and Mildred A. Brown, April 12, 1932, in Riverton, Wyoming. As a child she was raised on a sheep ranch outside of Waltman, Wyoming. She went to Natrona County High School and later got her GED.
She married Jerry Johnson on August 28, 1948 in Casper, WY. They were married 53 years.
She worked for the phone and oil companies through her career.
She and Jerry were avid outdoorsmen. They built a cabin at Alcova Lake in 1965.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Katrina (Kathy) Lupton Tuttle, grandson Pat Lupton, granddaughter Selina (Lupton) Irby and two great grandsons Eli (age 6) and Gannett (age 3) Irby. All are residing in Bozeman, MT. She is preceded in death by her parents Brownie and Mildred Brown and her husband Jerry Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donating to the Casper Humane Society.
The services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home Sunday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm. There will be a family and friends get together at the Hanger room at the Natrona County International Airport where there is free parking for 3 hours.
