Loretta Chadderdon passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023, at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living. She was born June 15th, 1941, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Harold and Jean Schwindt. She spent her school-aged years in Cheyenne, Wyoming, graduating from Central High School in 1959. Loretta married her high school sweetheart Dennis Chadderdon on August 27th, 1961. They were married 62 years.
Dennis and Loretta raised two children: Kim and David. The family lived in various towns, primarily around Kansas. They moved often as Dennis' career as a JC Penney manager transferred him frequently. In 1975 the family moved to Casper, Wyoming where Dennis and Loretta purchased Don's Mobile Carpet. The couple retired from the flooring business in 1998 and were snowbirds in Sun Lakes, Arizona. In 2015 the couple moved back to Casper full time to be closer to family. They could always be seen at their grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events.
Loretta loved camping, snowmobiling, playing tennis and was an avid golfer. One of her favorite hobbies was playing bridge; she earned her Life Master designation by the American Contract Bridge League, one of her greatest accomplishments. Loretta and Dennis also enjoyed traveling together: their last trip together was spent in Russia in 2017, before Loretta was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Loretta was a very social person: she loved life, always had a smile on her face, and could certainly find trouble wherever trouble could be found! She had a fiery personality when she thought she was right and rarely backed down. If there is a golf course in heaven she is there playing on "Men's Day"!
Loretta is survived by her husband Dennis, daughter, Kim Byrd (Bud), granddaughter Jamie Lawson (Grant), great grandsons Gannett and Aaro, granddaughter Megan Byrd, son David Chadderdon (Rachel), grandsons Griffin and Reegan Chadderdon, all of Casper, and brother Larry Schwindt (Connie) of Pierce, Colorado.
Per Loretta's wishes she will be cremated, and no public services will be held.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in Loretta's name to Central Wyoming, Hospice and transitions of Casper.
