Loma Jean "L.J" Carol Rule, 88, took the hand of God to her heavenly home on March 14, 2014 at Life Care Center of Casper. L.J. was born July 23, 1925 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Frank and Amanda (Ziebell) Froemming. After graduation from Oshkosh High School in 1944, she was employed at Wisconsin National Life Insurance.
On December 7, 1946 L.J. married Benjamin Rule. She became a stay at home mother, dedicating her life to caring for her three daughters and her son with cerebral palsy. L.J. returned to work as a color specialist inspector and supervisor at Lenox Candles in Oshkosh, WI. She was an active member and president of the Cerebral Palsy parent group, taught Sunday School and sponsored the Senior Luther League at Zion Lutheran Church, and was a camp fire leader.
L.J. moved to Casper, Wyoming after the passing of her husband and worked at Bostwicks in the children's department until her retirement. Her service to her community continued as she taught Sunday school and visited shut-ins in Casper. L.J. loved playing with her grandchildren, going to school activities, and watching sports on TV.
L.J. enjoyed spending her final years at Garden Square where she kept very busy reading, knitting, crocheting, laughing, and participating in outings, including her favorites; fishing trips and antique car rides. Spending time with her family always took precedence; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend spreading God's love and word. L.J. touched more lives than she will know.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Tim) Klein, Nancy (Ron) Williams, and Judith (Mike) Elston; brother, Frem Froemming; sister, Virginia Hafemann; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
L.J. is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Jimmy Rule.
A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
Memorial contributions may be made in L.J.'s memory to Vision Beyond Borders, c/o Pat Klein, P.O. Box 11385, Bozeman, MT 59719.
Special thanks to all who cared for L.J. over the years.
