Linus "Bud" Grant

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Philip Vaske as celebrant. Recitation of the Rosary will be Wed. Jan. 5, 2011, 6:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home.
Linus Grant was born in Forest River, ND on Sept. 30, 1944 to Andrew and Emma "LaFountain" Grant in a little "cook car" where she worked preparing meals for the potato harvesters. On March 18, 1962 he married his beloved wife of 48 years, Margaret Helen Bercier and together they had one daughter. After living in Larimore, ND for eleven years they decided to move west and in Feb. of 1978 they settled in Casper, WY. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved taking his family camping, he enjoyed the outdoors, wilderness and watching wildlife. He was especially proud of his great grandchildren MacKenzie, Riley, Jaxen, Wyatt and Jett aka the "Wild Bunch".
Linus was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Kristen and his sister, Eleanor Bercier.
He is survived by his wife, their daughter Gaylene Chaput and here husband Tony, his two granddaughters, Rene Olson and Michelle Dye and her husband Matthew, and his "Wild Bunch" whom he loved dearly. Along with four sisters, Sarah Domben, Gladys Smith, Rosalie Keplin and Ernestine Rinde, he is also survived by two brothers Sylvester and Archie, a special nephew John Grant and cousin Earl "Micky" LaVallie.
Linus was a very loving man devoted to his family and the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his favorite charities, St. Judes or the Make a Wish Foundation.
