Lindy Dwain Bland, 69 of Casper, Wyoming, died Monday, June 27th 2016 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
He was born on March 26, 1947 in Kermit, Texas. Lindy grew up in Casper and attended schools from Kindergarten through graduation from NCHS with the Class of 1965. He also graduated from Casper College and from the University of Denver with an Accounting Degree.
Lindy was a CPA and worked in Public and Industrial Accounting in the oil and gas industry in Colorado, Oklahoma and Wyoming.
He served in the Colorado U.S. Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1975.
Lindy was active in the Boy Scouts and he was the first to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, with Troup 13 in 1961, sponsored by the First Christian Church. He was a long time member of First Christian and served as a deacon and on the Board of Elders. He is survived by brothers; Eddie (Pat) Bland of Longmont, CO., Ronald Bland of Casper, WY., Jerry (Jo Ann) Bland of Kelso, WA., and sister Carol (Barry) Grasseschi of Great Falls, MT., and many nieces and nephews. Lindy was preceded in death by his parents, D.E. (Ed) and Pauline Bland.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the First Christian Church, Casper, WY. A reception and time of gathering will be held following the services at the Church.
Memorial Contributions in Lindy's name may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
