Linda Marie (Redig) Miller was born on April 23, 1944 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 23, 2022 with her family by her side.
Linda was born in Kansas to Marie (Peck) and Walter Todd. They would divorce shortly after Linda was born, and later, Marie would marry Joe Redig. Marie and Joe adopted Linda, and she was raised as their first-born daughter. The young family moved from Kansas back to South Dakota where Linda gained a love for both animals, and the great outdoors. The family moved to Wyoming where Linda would start school. She was a very academic student, she loved to learn, and worked very hard to get good grades all through her school years. She enjoyed extracurricular activities and played the clarinet very well. She liked to work and worked during her school years at the school cafeteria, and a local restaurant.
Linda graduated from Glenrock High School in 1963 and attended beauty school in Casper. In October of 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Marvin Miller at a ceremony in Casper. After the ceremony, the couple moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where Marvin was stationed. Linda set up their home and quickly learned what it took to be a military wife. In 1965, Linda gave birth to their daughter Susan. After serving his term in the Army, the couple, along with their baby Susan, returned to Casper, where Linda settled in as a homemaker and mother.
Through the years, they lived in many places, but it was in Alaska that Linda came to know the saving grace of her Lord and Savior Jesus.
Linda loved getting to know new friends. She sold Avon and Sarah Coventry and became one of the top sales ladies for those companies. No matter where she lived, she enjoyed family and friends, laughing, and playing games. Linda loved her family and was a wonderful mother and wife, housekeeper, and bookkeeper. She put love into everything she did, from a simple meal to her specialty cherry and lemon meringue pies. She had many talents, from crochet and tatting to woodworking with her mother, she was even a self-taught oil painter. One time, Linda, and her good friend Laura crocheted 100 Afghans to give to Veterans. You may still see some of her creations around the community, such as beautiful butterflies that are on houses or some of the fancy bird houses, she loved to build. Linda enjoyed horticulture as well. No matter where she lived, she always had a yard full of flowers and trees. Her yards were always decorated with an array of colors. Linda loved watching the birds, but she also loved cats, so she had to keep a keen eye on her "Bandit" cat, so her feathered friends would be safe. She loved helping people and hoped that she could continue doing so when they returned to Casper in 2022.
Linda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marvin Miller, and her daughter Susan Sexton (husband Larry). She is also survived by her Mother Marie Redig, 4 Sisters, Marge Hatfield, Jo Ann Keith, Virginia Redig, and Brenda Short, 3 brothers, Jerry Redig, Steve Redig, and Bruce Redig. Along with numerous Brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews and a lot of friends.
