Lillian Wilcox (Zanoni) Stephenson, 90, passed away peacefully at Meadow Winds assisted living with her family by her side on March 12, 2016.
She was born July 23, 1925 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to George and Rose (Keywatz) Wilcox. She was the oldest of their four children. She started school in Kemmerer and continued in Rock Springs when the family moved.
She married Mickey Zanoni in July 1943. Following his discharge from the Army, they made their home in Rock Springs until his job transferred him to Jackson Hole, Torrington and Rawlins. After his death in 1965, she went to work for Brownie and Ilo Brown at their Coast to Coast store where she worked until she remarried.
On June 10, 1971, she married Bill Stephenson and together they shared their passion of spending weekends camping, fishing and caring for their large, beautiful yard. Her favorite pastimes were walking, crocheting, sightseeing and caring for her home but spending time with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Madeline "Maggie" Miracle, of Casper, WY.; Son, Mickey (Barbara) Zanoni, of Mesquite, NV.; grandsons Bill (Diane) MacPherson, of Rawlins, WY.; Michael Zanoni (Chris Wheeler), of Seattle, WA.; granddaughter, Becky MacPherson, of Casper, WY,; great-grandson Devan MacPherson, of Casper; great-granddaughters Chelsi MacPherson (Bob Ross), of Casper, WY., Ashlynn MacPherson, of Casper, WY., and several distant cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mickey, her three siblings, Olga, Walter and George.
The deceased requested there be no service but there will be a private family gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Lillian would have appreciated memorial contributions to be made to St. Joseph Church, 219 W. Pine St., Rawlins, WY. 82301.
