Life History: She was raised on a working farm with her six brothers and four sisters. Her mother's love of pink clothes provided her nickname "Pinky".
At nineteen, she moved west to Casper, Wyoming for a summer adventure with her sister. She met
Her future husband, Willis (Bill) A. Rodgers whom she married June 7, 1949. Lucille and Bill raised four
Children in Casper.
Lucille worked for Natrona County School District at Dean Morgan Junior High in the school cafeteria for
21 years. She enjoyed many years with her co-workers and serving the many students. She retired in l988.
Lucille enjoyed traveling after her children were grown, taking her husband around the world and
seeing family around the country. Their travels included Hawaii, most of Europe, British Isles, twice to Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China and the old USSR.
In later years, they split their time between Alaska, fishing in the summers, and Wyoming, for hunting and the holidays with their family. They would "snow bird" south to Nevada and California in January, returning to Casper for the Springtime. Lucille was fond of picking the various berries found along the route to from Alaska for jelly making. She enjoyed solving word puzzles, playing pinochle with her friends once a month, and playing along with the game shows 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'.
