Leona Rosalyne Teske was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 22, 2019.
Leona was born June 24th, 1928 to Leonard and Rosina Shelstad in Havre, Montana. She was born into a loving home and was the oldest of 9 children. She was raised on the family homestead in Turner, Montana. She loved life on the farm and would revisit those memories often. Leona met the love of her life while living on that family farm. She married Kermit Teske on May 24, 1944 and at the time of Leona's death they would have been married just shy of 75 yrs. To this union six children were born. Roger, Serena, Dennis, Michael, Vickey and Alan. Leona and Kermit's journey through life would take them to many of the 50 states where they shared the experiences each place had in store for them.
Leona loved the Lord and made sure her children grew to know him as she did. She was an incredible mother, always cooking, baking and serving her family and friends. She had a love of quilting which led to her making many quilts for her children and grandchildren and donating many quilts to the homeless.
Leona and Kermit retired to Casper, Wy in 1991. She enjoyed sharing in the love of 12 Grandchildren, 20 Great grandchildren and 5 Great great grandchildren.
Leona is preceded in death by son Michael and daughter Vickey. She is survived by her husband Kermit, sons, Roger (Kazuko) of Redmond WA, Dennis (Rita) Terry MT, Alan (Esther) of Casper WY, and daughter Serena (Ralph) Everett of Casper WY, sisters Connie Shelstad, Betty Morris and brothers John and Keith Shelstad. Sister-in-law Elfriede Shelstad.
Between birth and death our Mother gave and was given the greatest gift life has to offer….
She loved, and She was loved.
