Life History:
In 1931 the family moved from Vinta to Amherst Nebraska. In 1945 Leo started working on the Union Pacific Railroad. He graduated from Amherst Nebraska high school in 1946. He moved to Wyoming in 1948. In January of 1951 Leo enlisted in the US Army and started his basic training in Fort Riley, Kansas. He joined the 28th Division connected to the Pennsylvania National Guard. On September 8, 1951 he married Dorothy While in Rawlins, Wyoming. In November of 1951 he shipped out to Goblin Germany. When he returned in 1952 he moved the family to Laramie. In 1953 they moved to Hanna. Working for the Union Pacific for 45 years Leo could operator any piece of machinery that was out there. Retired from the railroad in 1990.

From his love of working with wood, he was known around Casper as "Old Crooked Stick and The Maker of Doll Furniture". He loved kids and was always giving away the furniture. Member of the Hanna Lion's Club. He was recognized nationally by the Lion's Club for his work with charities and children.
