Lenora June Lund

June 22, 1937 — July 2, 2018

Lenora June (Young) Lund was born June 22, 1937, in Longmont, Colorado, to Florence and George Young. Lenora was the only girl in her family, with an older and a younger brother, both parents and brothers have preceded her in death. All of her schooling was in Longmont, CO at Lincoln and Central Elementary Schools, as well as Longmont Junior and Senior High where she graduated in 1955.

After high school Lenora attended Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, Nebraska, and graduated with a certificate in Christian Education in May of 1959. She also attended classes at Casper College to further her professional development later in life.

On June 18, 1958, Lenora married Lowell J. Lund at the First Christian Church in Longmont, Colorado and proceeded to have a family of five children – Nita Kaye, Brian Marc, Vicki Sue, Andrew Jon, and Tory Beth, which later expanded to include 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Lenora and her family have lived in a variety of places over the course of a lifetime, including Longmont CO, Norfolk NE, Ft. Harrison IN, Rapid City SD, Pierre SD, Alexandria MN, Ronan MT, Highland Township MI, and Casper WY (since 1979) and worked a variety of professional jobs. She was a hard worker with a great sense of fun. After 18 years of service Lenora retired from Wyoming Medical Center as an administrative assistant, but later resumed her career with the Natrona County School District and North Platte Physical Therapy through 2008.

Lenora was a lady of many talents and loved sharing these with her family. As a young lady, she was an avid roller skater, a hobby she enjoyed with her husband and her kids. Throughout her life she was a gifted musician in both voice and piano, which she generously shared with her extended church families. She could always be depended on to teach Sunday School classes, VBS programs, and chaperone youth activities. She has been the church secretary for BASIC Fellowship since its inception until her passing. Perhaps Lenora is best known for her crocheted masterpieces. She has generously shared this gift with her family and friends, as well as crocheting beanies for "Caps for Kids" and lap blankets for Casper Hospice.

Lenora will best be remembered for being a loving and nurturing mom, grandma, and great grandma to her immediate family, as well as a good and loyal friend to her church family. She demonstrated her deep love for her family on a daily basis.

Lenora is survived by her husband, five children, and her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who will always hold her in high esteem.

Donations in Lenora's honor can be made to Mission to South Africa, PO Box 50063, Casper, WY 82605, or the American Cancer Society.
