Adelina Vigil Knox Alcala, 94, of Casper died Saturday, July 30th at the Shepherd of the Valley care center. Lena was born in Valley, New Mexico to Benideito Vigil and Fedelina Vigil. She attended school at Lone Tree, Colorado.
She had been a Casper resident since 1959. She also lived in Superior, Wyoming for 15 years and Rock Springs for 3 years. Lena s occupation of a lifetime was raising her 14 children. She married Fernando Alcala and later George Knox.
She is survived by her children, Lewis Alcala; Windsor, Vermont, Pauline Stratton, Marion, Indiana, Mary Alcala, Denver, Colorado, Jake Alcala, Casper, Wyoming, Marcie Alcala, Casper, Wyoming , Beneito Alcala, Casper, Wyoming, Delores Madrigal, Selma, California, Josephine Legarreta, Casper, Wyoming, Fernando Alcala, Fairfield, California, Jamie Nation, Casper, Wyoming, Nola Hernandez, Casper, Wyoming and Nolan Knox, Rogers, Arkansas. Siblings Josie Avila, Woodland, California, Manual Vigil, Woodland, California, Carmen Abram, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Molly Padilla, Woodland, California, Victor Vigil, San Luis, Colorado, Richard Vigil, Woodland, California, Pete Vigil, Woodland, California, Ruben Vigil, Woodland, California and Milly Crawford, West Virginia. Lena has 40 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and 41 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, ( her husbands,) brothers, Joe and Frank Vigil and Sister, Tille Valdez daughters, Mary Louise and Juliene Alcala, grandchildren Robert, Antonio and Adelina.
Cremation has taken place and Memorial graveside services will be 11: 00 A.M. at Highland cemetery. Memorials may be made in Lena's name directly to Amedisys Hospice of Casper, 907 Poplar St. Casper, WY 82601
