Leland "Red" Louis Baruth, 73, died Monday March 23 in Aurora MO. Red was born March 23, 1935 in Alexandria, NE to Louis and Nora Baruth. He was raised and attended schools in Alexandria. In June of 1957 he married Lucille Ann Taylor and together they raised 4 children. After Lucille's death in 1998, Red met and married Norma Joan Lawrence in 1999. Red came to Casper in 1968 where he ultimately went to work for J.W. Williams retiring from there as a welder in 2002. He enjoyed working on and converting Volkswagens into to dune buggies, snowmobiling, playing his banjo and mountain music, traveling and being with friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Red was one of God's greatest blessings.
Survivors include his wife Norma Baruth of Aurora, MO; daughter, Phyllis Tysver and her husband Ken of Rawlins, daughter Kelly Lawrence of Douglas, daughter-in-law Robyn Baruth of Casper, son Kerry Baruth of Casper, stepsons, Thomas Lawrence of Glenrock, William C Lawrence of Sioux Falls SD, stepdaughters, Bobbie Legas and husband Chris of North Platte, NE and Donna Slayden and husband Marty of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Kaye Clark and Verona Humphries both of Tool, TX ; brother Arden Baruth of Alexandria, NE; 8 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lucille, son Shawn, grandson Shane, great-granddaughter Angel, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will beheld Monday March 31 from 6 to 8 PM in Newcomer Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 PM in Newcomer Funeral Home followed by a burial in Highland Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Cancer Treatment Center of America, 10109 E. 79th St, Tulsa OK 74133
