Lawrence Craig Bowdish , 83, of Casper, was born to Craig and Elmira (Lantis) Bowdish on Aug. 25, 1926 in Andrews NE. He passed away at the Central Wyoming Hospice Home on May 22, 2010. Lawrence was one of eleven children. His family moved to various places when he was a child and he worked on different farms while he was growing up. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army and tours of duty in Germany and Japan. Mr. Bowdish was united in marriage to Doris Aurand on March 25, 1951 in Gillette, WY. Mr. Bowdish was employed as a truck driver hauling heavy equipment for The Hopkins Construction Company and The Knisely-Moore Construction Company. In 1970, they moved east of Douglas where they farmed and ranched. In 1982, they moved east of Kaycee where they continued farming and ranching until he retired in 1994. Mr. and Mrs. Bowdish moved to Casper in 2004 where they resided at Park Place. Lawrence loved to joke around and tease his nieces and nephews. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping. His regret would be that he didn't get to do enough of them. After retiring, he and his wife took a few trips before his eye sight gave out. Lawrence was a special man with a wry sense of humor. He enjoyed the family gatherings and was a hard worker. He will be deeply and forever missed by us all.
