CASPER -- An open house celebration and memorial of the life of Laurel Chadwick 77, will be held Sunday, April 30, 2006, at 1 p.m.(a short service will he held at 2 p.m.) at the home of Forrest and Debbie Chadwick, 330 Roundup Road.
She died April 26, 2006, in Casper.
A Wyoming native, she grew up in the Pumpkin Buttes area and started teaching school at 17.
In 1946, after a whirlwind romance, she eloped with WWII veteran Warren Chadwick. They loved to dance and work horses and did both with enthusiasm for many years. They ranched in the Kaycee area for several years before moving to Casper.
She always enjoyed horses, gardening, photography and her family. They were very active supporters of high school rodeo and sponsored team ropings for many years at their ranch, east of Casper.
They also worked together and operated an insurance business and real estate office.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, three children and their spouses, Forrest Chadwick, Val Lathrop and Rene' Allemand; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters, one son, Jody, and one grandchild.
