Larry Earl Winters

August 24, 1950 — July 26, 2024

Casper

Larry Earl Winters, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend to many, passed away on July 26th, 2024 in Casper, Wyoming. He was born on August 24th, 1950 in El Paso, Texas to Earl J. Winters and Ruth Frances Miskimins.

Larry's family moved to Aurora Colorado in 1960 and then Salt Lake City Utah in 1963. It was during his senior year of high school at Skyline High School that Larry discovered his passion for boxing and even had the honor of competing in the “golden gloves” as an amateur boxer. After graduation in 1968, he founded The Quarter Masters club with a group of friends who shared his love for muscle cars.

In the early '80s Larry ventured to Wyoming where he made significant contributions to the oil industry by creating his own pickup and lay down truck. It was there in Greybull where he met Pamela Gail Winters - the love of his life - in 1986. They married on December 28th, 1993 and welcomed their only son Dallas James Winters on June 12th,1994.

Settling down in Casper Wyoming proved fruitful as Larry established a thriving business called "Paint N Piston," specializing in restoration of classic cars and hot rods. His passion for fast cars led him to create and race his own custom vehicles locally. You could always find Larry and his family at the race track on a Friday night whether it was at a demolition derby or racing dirt track modifieds.

Larry will be remembered not just for his professional achievements but also for being an incredible friend who never knew a stranger. His innovative spirit touched countless lives through stories that captivated all who heard them; tales that will continue to echo through time.

He is survived by Pamela Gail Winters (spouse), Dallas (Kristina) Winters (son), Cooper & Charlie (grandchildren), James (Shiela) Winters (brother), Shirley (Jack) Bush (sister), Ayme Hadascok (niece), and Andrew Riches (nephew). Preceded by Kenneth Allan Winters (brother), Earl J. Winters (father), and Ruth Frances Miskimins (mother).

The loss of Larry has left an indelible mark on those whose lives were graced by him; yet it is certain that memories of this remarkable man will endure forevermore.
