Kent Robert Smith, NCCM, 88, passed away on Sunday July 24, 2022, at Shepherd of the Valley in Casper, Wyoming after a long battle with dementia.

Kent was born in Colorado on May 20. 1934. He retired in Casper. Kent served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1991 retiring a Master Chief. He traveled the world aboard many ships and served in the Korean War, Vietnam War and Gulf War. Upon his return home he worked for the State of Wyoming for several years.

Kent married Gladys Gene Smith (Breazeale) December 16, 1983, in Casper.

Kent like to go hunting and fishing with his friends and family, he belonged to the Pathfinder boat club. Kent and Gladys liked going to ship reunions and spending time out at Pathfinder Reservoir. Kent was interested in the Civil War and read books and watched many documentaries on the subject. He loved his Denver bronco especially when they were winning. He like going to local high school games and watching Kyle, his grandson, play.

Kent is survived by his loving wife, Gladys; son, Mitch (Lynnette) of Garden Valley, Idaho; stepchildren, Jack Myers of Conyers, Georgia; Donald (Emma) Myers of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; Vern (Colleen) Myers of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Cindy Ford of Buffalo, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; and a few great grandchildren.
