Kenneth Robert Lisco

January 1, 1947 — February 24, 2025

Kenneth Robert Lisco, affectionately known as Kenny, passed away peacefully at his home in Casper, WY, on February 24th, 2025 at the age of 78, where he succumbed to complications of Parkinson's Disease. Born in 1947 in Denver, Colorado, Ken led a life characterized by dedication, integrity, kindness, and a strong and unwavering work ethic.

Ken spent his early years growing up in Eastern Colorado on the family dairy farm where he developed a deep love for animals that remained with him throughout his entire life. He graduated from Bennett High School where, as a natural-born athlete, he excelled at sports and was recognized as Most Valuable Player in both basketball and football, and whose name was featured quite often in the local and regional papers, both in sports and various other extracurricular activities.

While still in high school, he was an active member of the Colorado DeMolay, a Masonic organization, where he was awarded the title of Master Councilor. In 1965, he was also paid the high honor of “Degree of State Farmer,” by the Colorado FFA chapter, a prestigious appointment, recognizing outstanding achievement in which rigid qualifications for election must be met, and to whom few ever receive this honor. After having graduated from Bennett High School in Eastern Colorado, he went on to attend Colorado State University, where he was the first in his family to graduate from college with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Husbandry and Agricultural Sciences.

After graduating from college in 1969, he went on to enlist in the United States Navy, bravely serving in the Vietnam War. As a decorated Vietnam veteran, he served aboard the USS Francis Hammond, earning respect and camaraderie among his fellow sailors who honored him by naming their radar gang after him (the Lisco Locker Gang). In 1973, after being honorably discharged from service, he returned to the Philippines where his fiancé of two years, Bebie, awaited his return. They were subsequently married and continued to reside in the Philippine Islands for another six months before returning to America. A couple years later, they were blessed with a baby girl. In 1980s' they left behind the dairy farm and moved to Casper, Wy. where they spent the majority of their life together.

For 27 years, Ken worked as a safety trainer in the bentonite mining industry, where his commitment to excellence and safety left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community. During this time he continued to serve his country in the Naval reserves for an additional 20 years before finally retiring. Known for his shy and humble demeanor, he was characterized by his kindness and compassion towards those he met. Throughout his life he acquired many hobbies. He was a talented woodworker, banjo player, and at one time a successful beekeeper who cultivated his own honey. Ken also had a lifelong passion for travel and photography which took him abroad to places such as China, the United Kingdom, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

He is survived by his beloved (vivacious) wife, Bebie, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years, a motley crew of rescue pups, Cricket, Lily and Russell Dean, as well as his cherished daughter, Aileen, and her husband, Eric. He is also remembered by his half-sisters, Julie Smith and Marlena Albertson, stepsister, Linda Bruntz, stepbrother, Reggie Seeger, and various nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Bob, loving stepmother, Doloras, and also his younger brother, Jimmy.

A Memorial Service with military honors for Ken will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming with a reception immediately following at the church.
