Kenneth Freemole
A Remembrance for Ken Freemole will be shared with friends and family at the Casper Country Club on Friday, February 23rd at 12:00 noon.
Kenneth Dwight Freemole (73) was born to Fred and Grace (Eaton) Freemole in Philip, South Dakota, March 19, 1933. The Freemole family moved to Belle Fourche, SD where Ken grew from childhood to a graduate of the local high school.
Ken was one of the three Freemole brothers, including Don and Ron, who were considered formidable in the sports arena. Ken participated in basketball, football, and track as well as golf.
During the Korean Conflict, Ken trained as a paratrooper. Ken remained part of a close knit friendship with three of his Korean comrades; their last yearly gathering was in October 2006.
South Dakota School of Mines was Ken's alma mater where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. He soon established his Emulsified Asphalt Engineering Firm in partnership with his son, David.
Ken married the former Donna Ericsson; they celebrated fifty years of marriage August 26, 2006.
Ken was an incredibly generous man both with his time and his largess. He never met a stranger and gave every person the benefit of doubt. His prodigious intellect was legend. It is generally believed that Ken left this world a better place in which to live.
Ken is survived by his wife, Donna, and son, David and three granddaughters. His older brother, Ron, lives in Phoenix, Arizona; his younger sister, Carole Freemole is in Fort Collins, Colorado. Brother Don and his parents are deceased.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a memorial donation to the Wyoming Medical Center Auxiliary..
