Kenneth R. Bacon, 79, of Casper, passed away Dec. 15, 2009 after a brief illness.
He was born April 27, 1930 in Kearney, NE. He was a graduate of Kearney High School and then attended The University of Nebraska in Lincoln NE where he met his future wife and was united in marriage to Sharlene VanMatre Dec. 8, 1957 in Greybull, WY and she preceded him in death in 2000.Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by LTV Energy formerly known as Continental Emsco after his honorable discharge from the Army until he retired. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and served as Exalted Ruler while residing in Rangely, CO and was also a member of the Eagles Lodge in Casper. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and watching football on TV.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Reid and husband Mike of Casper and one son Ron and his wife Nina of Clinton, OK. There are two grandchild, Brad Bacon and Kelly Reid. He was preceded in death his parents, six brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will be Friday Dec. 18, 2009, 2PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home with Chaplain Ellis Caster officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice Home.
