On Thursday, January 22, 2009, Kelly Diane Trevino, our loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Kelly was born to William and Marjorie Lemon on September 29, 1958 in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from the accounting program at the University of Wyoming on May 17, 1981, with a Bachelor of Science with Honor. On December 11, 1982, she married her soul mate, Jesse Trevino, Jr. in Casper, Wyoming. Kelly and Jesse moved to Dallas, TX immediately after their marriage, where Kelly worked for Gaston Episcopal Hospital in their accounting department. She eventually obtained a position with the Texas Center for Joint Replacement, and worked there for many years before moving on to be the personal administrative assistant to her mentor and friend, Dr. William C. Head, whom she worked for up until her death.
On June 10, 1994, Kelly and Jesse were blessed with the birth of their only son, David. David was the joy of Kelly's life; she loved being a mother, spending time with her son, and helping him grow into the wonderful young man he is today. Kelly was very dedicated to David and participated in many of his activities, including soccer, scouting and, most recently, the band at Rowlett High. Kelly loved the outdoors. She had a beautiful yard, and one could often find her planting flowers, working in her garden, or filling the bird feeders for her feathered friends. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, both here in Texas and back in her native Wyoming. Kelly was an active, dedicated member of First United Methodist Church-Rowlett, where she taught Sunday School and played in the English handbell choir. Bells and music have been a long-time love of Kelly's, dating back to her high school days in Casper where she played bells with her family in their church's choir. Kelly was also an accomplished pianist. Kelly's faith was a vital part of her life, and she shared that faith with her family and friends.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Jesse Trevino, Jr.; beloved son, David; and sisters Kimberly (Mark) McAtee of Casper, WY, and Katherine (Michael) Ware of Magna, UT; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 at 3:00 PM in the Highland Cemetery. Newcomer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
