Kay Eloise Brittain, age 85, died at home on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. She was born November 5, 1933 in Lemons, Missouri to William and Lenna Hill. As a young girl, her family moved to Wyoming where she graduated from Cody High School and then attended the University of Wyoming. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Brittain, on March 3, 1953. After moving to Casper, Kay worked at America Pipe and Supply as a bookkeeper. She then became a bookkeeper and accountant for the first Kmart store in Casper. In June 1966, Kay joined the staff at Guaranty Federal, where she remained until retirement. Along with work, Kay was involved in many activities with their three children, including Boy Scouts, Brownies, volunteer at school, United Fund, Board of Directors of Campfire Girls, Insurance Women of America, and member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Kay and Ken enjoyed spending winters in Yuma, Arizona, and spent summers at Alcova Lake, active in the Casper Water Ski Club. Kay enjoyed traveling, with trips to London, Amsterdam, Costa Rica, Canada, Alaska, annual trips to Cancun, Mexico and several trips across the Lower 48. She was preceded in death by her sister, Annabel Lee White. Kay is survived by Kenneth, her husband of 66 years; son, Larry and wife Linda; daughters, Carolyn Anderson, and Tammie and husband Rich Dent; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Casper Chapel with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Wyoming Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at noon at the Senior Center.
