On Wednesday, March 23, 2021, Kathy Gail Heuer succumbed to cancer after a courageous battle lasting 10 years. She passed away peacefully with family by her side.
Kathy was born to Lee and Rena Watts in Mobile, Alabama, July 28, 1971.
The family moved to Casper, Wyoming in the Fall of 1973. She attended school in Casper until the family moved to Green River, Wyoming where Kathy graduated from Green River High School.
She attended Casper College and went on to get a Master's Degree from the University of Wyoming in Speech Language Pathology. She served portions of her internship in Greely, Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming.
In the fall of 1994, Kathy married Brent Heuer in Casper, and they followed their professions to Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Riverton, Wyoming, over the next 13 years.
The couple moved to Casper in 2006, where Kathy began working for the Natrona County School District. She was employed with the District for 14 years with service at Bar Nunn, Wyoming Elementary School, until she was forced to resign because of medical reasons.
Kathy was a much loved person by everyone who got to know her. Her gentle compassionate attitudes towards others was a major hallmark in her life. She loved to be with her family and the students at Bar Nunn. She enjoyed camping, working on her house, and was always up for a game of Scrabble!
Anyone that knew her would come to admire the dignity and respect Kathy exemplified as a woman of character in her roles of a daughter, sister, wife, and mother.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 27 years, Brent Heuer; two children, Gabriel and Mariah Heuer; Brother, Jeremy Watts; and Father, Lee Watts. Kathy's mother, Rena Watts, passed away in January 2020.
Kathy was a true believer in the Christian doctrine of eternal life through Christ and found peace and serenity in knowing she was prepared for eternity when her time on earth was done.
Kathy will be missed by her family and all the friends, co-workers, and students with whom she was associated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be given to the American Cancer Society, Central Wyoming Hospice or a charitable organization of your choice.
